I’m Yani DeBrew, founder of DeBrew Studio, a creative platform centered around art, expression, visibility, and community.
I created DeBrew Studio from my passion for creativity and my desire to build a space where artists feel genuinely seen, supported, and appreciated. As an artist myself, I understand how important it is to have environments where creativity can exist freely without limitation.
I earned my Associate Degree in Graphic Design from Prince George’s Community College in 2021 before transferring to the University of Maryland, College Park, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Studio Art in 2024. After graduation, I continued my education by earning a certificate in accounting in 2025, and I am currently further developing my business knowledge through an online course in Business Management.
Before fully stepping into this vision, I worked as a Workplace Coordinator, where I gained experience in organization, communication, professionalism, and leadership. Although I appreciated the experience, I realized I was searching for something deeper — a purpose that aligned more closely with creativity, community, and impact.
DeBrew Studio is not just a platform for me. It was created for fellow upcoming, independent, emerging, and experimental artists who deserve spaces where their voices, stories, and creativity are valued and celebrated.
Art has always meant more to me than simply creating. It is expression, storytelling, emotion, freedom, and connection. My artistic style is inspired by bold expression, texture, individuality, and contemporary creativity. I believe art should create experiences that people can feel and connect with.
Through DeBrew Studio, my vision is to continue building a welcoming creative community centered around visibility, collaboration, artistic freedom, and meaningful expression. I want artists to feel empowered to embrace their individuality and confidently share their work with the world.
This is more than a creative platform to me.
